Brandon Area Community Foundation (BACF), we are proud to have partnered with the Community Foundations of Canada and the Government of Canada to deliver the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF). Launched on May 19, 2020, we’ve invested $109,120 through the ESCF towards local charities and qualified donees supporting populations experiencing heightened vulnerability during this crisis. We are pleased to announce the ECSF has supported projects including:

Big Brothers & Sisters of Brandon  4,200 was invested to fund Ipads to provide families without the means of virtual communications to stay connected to their mentors.
Brandon Bear Clan Patrol       9,000 was invested to fund care kits and snacks to community members that have lost access to support due to COVID-19.
Seniors for Seniors Co-Op Inc.     10,000 was invested to fund the program “Dinner is Served” to seniors that are isolated due to COVID-19.
Helping Hands Centre of Brandon     14,800 was invested to fund the purchase of a walk-in cooler.
CNIB       7,500 was invested to fund virtual programming to clients in Brandon and southwestern Manitoba.
Prairie Oasis Senior Centre       8,570 was invested to fund the purchase of food preparation equipment.
Prairie Oasis Senior Centre       1,850 was invested to fund the purchase of an Ipad to help isolated seniors communicate with family.
Seniors for Seniors Co-Op Inc.       8,300 was invested to fund programming for seniors that are dealing with isolation due to COVID-19.
Women’s Regional Resource Centre     21,600 was invested to fund programming to meet the increased needs of women and children in Brandon and southwestern Manitoba.
Samaritan House Ministries Inc.     23,300 was invested to fund the purchase of a walk-in cooler.
