St. Matthew’s Cathedral Brandon was thrilled when BACF approved its request for funds. With the $10,000 were able to have the north turret tower of the cathedral repaired. After 100 years of water and snow leaking down the inside & outside of the tower because a proper drain was not installed during construction, bricks and mortar were crumbling and falling down the spiral staircase inside the tower. We were able to have a proper drain and downspout installed so that water would leave the roof of the turret. In addition, bricks were re-installed inside and outside the tower to restore the structural integrity of the tower.
Keeping a 100 year old building viable is a task our congregation values and we also value the contribution of BACF in the preservation of this lovely Brandon building.Thank you for your assistance.
