The Brandon Area Community Foundation (BACF) is proud to mark its 60th year of operations with a record-breaking investment in regional community organizations. This year, BACF has awarded $800,426 to 46 successful applicants through its Community Grants program—nearly doubling the number of grants and increasing funding by 30% compared to last year.
Grants were distributed across six fields of interest: Arts & Culture, Community Development, Education, Environment, Health and Wellness, and Recreation. With 96 applications submitted, the selection committee had an exceptional pool of proposals to consider. Almost half of the funded projects are located outside Brandon, reflecting BACF’s commitment to supporting both urban and rural communities throughout southwestern Manitoba.
Dean Hammond, Chair of the BACF Grants Committee, shared:
Funded projects range from hydroponic farms and pollinator gardens to arts programming, health initiatives, and facility upgrades. You can view the full list of grant recipients and funded projects here.
